Supply Materials

Concentrates

HDXC, Super Harp C, LB 140, LBE 90 etc.
Concentrates are the supply form of the Hawking coating range. They are used to make up new or replenish existing working bath solutions.

Emulsion Stabiliser H403
A blend of organic acids used to stabilise the working bath solution. It is also used to replenish the working bath after permeate has been discarded.

Solvent Replenisher H400
Solvent used to increase flow and film build of the coating.
Not miscible with water and should never be added directly to the working bath solution.
Need to be mixed well before making additions to the working bath.
Mixing ratios:
1 part H400 to 5 parts concentrate
Or 1 part H400 to 3 parts Solvent H401

Solvent Replenisher H401
This is the continuous phase solvent (C.P.). It is completely miscible with water and can be added directly to the bath via the weir. It helps formation of the deposited coating.

Solvent Replenisher H402
This blend of solvents can be added directly to the bath or permeate tanks. This material is used for make-up and replacement of permeate (ultra-filtration) rinse tanks (typically 3% addition by volume).

Solvent Replenisher H404
Flow additive solvent blend.
Not miscible with water and should never be added directly to the working bath solution.
It can only be added when adding concentrate to the working bath. It is added at the rate of 1 part H404 to 5 parts resin concentrate and let down with bath material.

Solvent Replenisher H409
A flow and film build solvent blend. It can be added directly to the tank via the weir section of the coating tank.

Rinse Aid H500
Rinse Aid is a special surface-active agent, which is added to the final rinse. Rinse aid helps the water run off the parts evenly and prevent rinse marks or staining.

Transparent Dyes
H101 Red Dye
H103 Yellow Dye
H106 Blue Dye
H108 Black Dye
H120 Gold Dye

Dyes are premixed with concentrate before 'letting down' with deionised water or bath working solution. They are used to give a wide range of coloured transparent coatings. See dye additions section for details of addition method.

Opaque Pigments
Pigments are pre-mixed during manufacture with the concentrate to give black, white and various other coloured coatings.

U/F Tube Cleaner
This is a specially formulated low solvent aqueous medium used to flush U/F (Ultrafiltrate) tubes to restore permeate production rates.

Matting Agents
Hawking offer specially formulated matting agents, which are designed to produce a range of satin to full matt finishes.

Pre-Pas Neutral H408
Neutral type electrolytic chromate passivation system for improving corrosion resistance.

Precure Stripper
This is a simple aqueous stripper supplied as a five times concentrate. It will remove the uncured coating by simple immersion of coated parts whilst still on the coating jig. As it will not attack most polished metals or bright plated parts, items can be immediately recoated without removal from the jigs.

Antique Blackening Solutions
These are special solutions, which form an adherent black coating on metals by simple immersion at room temperature. They are easily removed from the highlights by brushing with a wheel or by hand rubbing with a cloth and moist alumina powder. Parts are then rinsed and coated with clear copper or brass coloured electrophoretic coating to give a range of antique finishes.
