The development of Alphaclad Omnicure anodic electrocoat represents a major breakthrough in being able to provide hard, durable coatings at curing temperatures as low as 90°C.
This outstanding performance cannot be matched by currently available cathodic electrocoats on the market.
It is now possible to protect temperature sensitive substrates such as nickel plated zinc based die castings without the high reject rates that are normally associated with currently available electro-lacquers.
Alphaclad Omnicure also demonstrates it's versatility by being able to be 'fast' cured at a curing schedule of 160°C for 5 minutes (at metal temperature). This enables much higher production rates where the curing stage is the rate determining step.
At it's maximum cure (160°C for 30 minutes at metal temperature), Alphaclad Omnicure offers exceptional levels of chemical and wear resistance as well as superb acetone/solvent resistance.
The anodic deposition process limits the applications of Alphaclad Omnicure insofar as oxidisable metals such as silver and brass etc. are unsuitable substrates. However, gold, nickel, chrome, stainless steel and in particular aluminium positively benefit from the process.
